Manufacturers are increasingly replacing simple mechanical controls with electronic control boards. For example, the dispensers on some KitchenAid refrigerators now use electronic pressure pads instead of a mechanical lever system to actuate the ice or water function and have four different electronic control boards to run the dispenser. To make our joy complete, the tech sheet omits the input and output signals between these various boards and pressure pads making an analytical diagnosis (measuring input and output voltages) virtually impossible.
